Privacy Policy

This is a translation provided for convenience. The Russian version is the legally binding text.

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is Маркелов Никита Васильевич, registered in the Russian Federation as self-employed (professional income tax payer), taxpayer number 300902719962.

This policy describes the data processed in connection with the mobile application "Memory Shards" (package com.plotshift.memoryshards, the "App") and applies to that app only.

2. In short

The App is a puzzle game. It needs no account: we do not ask you to register, we do not ask for your name, phone number, address or email, and we do not link the game to a profile in any other service.

Three things do happen, and they are worth knowing about:

1. The App contacts our server to fetch new levels, and the server sees the network details of that request.
2. Your progress is saved on the device itself and is never sent anywhere.
3. Where the App shows advertising, an ad network delivers it and collects its own data (section 5).

3. Data processed on our side

When the App contacts memoryshards.space, the web server writes the following to its access log:

• the device's IP address;
• the date and time of the request, the address requested, and the number of bytes served;
• the language selected in the App (ru or en), which determines which levels are available;
• the User-Agent string sent by the operating system.

Purposes: delivering levels and video to the device, diagnosing faults, and protecting the server from excessive load and abuse.

Legal basis: processing is necessary to perform the agreement under which you use the App (Article 6(1)(5) of Russian Federal Law No. 152-FZ of 27 July 2006 on Personal Data).

Retention: access logs are kept for no more than 30 days and are then deleted.

We do not match these records to an identified person, we do not build profiles from them, and we do not use them for advertising.

4. Data that stays on your device

The App stores your level progress, your sound setting and your chosen interface language on the device. This is held by the operating system inside the App's own directory, is never sent to us, and is removed when the App is uninstalled.

5. Advertising

The App may show advertising, delivered by Yandex Advertising Network through the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK embedded in the App.

To select and display an ad, the network receives:

• the device advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID) — a resettable identifier that does not contain your name;
• the IP address;
• device and software details: model, OS version, language, screen parameters, connection type, mobile carrier;
• impression data: which ad was shown, when, and whether it was tapped;
• the App's identifier and version.

For this data the ad network acts as an independent controller and processes it on its own terms. We do not receive it in a form that identifies an individual user; we see only aggregate impression statistics.

Opting out of personalisation. In Android settings open Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by manufacturer) and choose "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalisation". Ads will still appear, but will no longer be selected based on your interests.

6. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

• INTERNET — downloading levels and displaying advertising;
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE — checking that a connection exists, and of what kind, before using the network;
• com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID — access to the device advertising identifier, without which the ad network cannot serve an ad;
• BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE — install source information, requested by the ad network library;
• a technical permission of the form DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION — generated automatically by Android and exposing nothing outward.

All but the first are added by the advertising library. The App does not request access to location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, device files, call logs or SMS.

7. Who we share data with

• the advertising network, to the extent described in section 5;
• Timeweb, the hosting provider whose servers run the service (Russian Federation), to the extent described in section 3;
• competent state authorities, where the law expressly requires it.

We do not sell data and we do not pass it to third parties for their own independent purposes.

8. Where data is stored

The App's servers are located in the Russian Federation. Recording, systematisation, accumulation, storage, amendment and retrieval of the personal data of Russian citizens is carried out using databases located in the Russian Federation (Article 18(5) of Federal Law No. 152-FZ).

9. Security

Traffic between the App and the server uses HTTPS. Administrative access to the server is restricted and password-protected, and server logs are available only to the operator. We apply the legal, organisational and technical measures required by Article 19 of Federal Law No. 152-FZ.

10. Your rights

Under Article 14 of Federal Law No. 152-FZ you may obtain confirmation that your personal data is being processed, access that data, require it to be corrected, blocked or destroyed, withdraw your consent, and complain to Roskomnadzor or to a court.

Send requests to digital@plotshift.ru. We will respond within 30 days of receiving the request.

Please note: the App collects nothing that identifies a person, so we cannot locate records belonging to you from a name alone. To make a request actionable, include the IP address and the approximate dates on which you used the App.

11. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you become aware that a child has provided us with information, write to us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

A new version is published at this same address with an updated date in the heading. Material changes — in particular any new kind of data processing — will also be noted in the App's release notes in the store.
